BMW 120d sprint 0-100 acceleration chiptuning


Acceleration video of my MY07 BMW 120d Limited Sport Edition. 0-100 km/h was previously measured with stock engine (177 hp and 350 Nm) at 7,3-7,5 sec (see my other Youtube videos). Engine is now chiptuned by PPE (Power Plus Engineering) to 211 hp and 448,5 Nm … and I measured the 0-100 acceleration at an awesome 6,4 sec. Measurements are correct and unbiased with high accuracy GPS device (PerformanceBox/DriftBox). EDIT : audio muted due to copyright claim of WEEN for the song VOODOO LADY.

    @Flippy1565 Nicht mehr als der normale Preis. ;-) Gute Chiptuning kostet etwa zwischen 750 und 1.500 EUR (MwSt. inkl.), glaub’ich.

    @TL1000S97 There was live audio, but whit a little bit of music in the beginning. During the sprints there was no music, only live sound. Can I re-add the audio to this video? Thought that wasn’t possible… :-/

    @ZDShadowForce It’s a remap. The first Bosch EDC17 could be remapped through the (OBD?) plug in the driver’s footwell (just above the bonnet release handle), but since 03/2009 BMW has a newer version installed (EDC17-II) which cannot be remapped in this way. Deinstall and reinstall of the unit is necessary…

    @F4llenEmpire Chippen ist geil, aber immer damit Rechnung halten das es (viel) schneller Schaden geben KANN (muss jedoch nicht unbedingt, mein vorheriges Fahrzeug bin ich 130.000 km gechipt ohne Probleme gefahren). ;-)

    @F4llenEmpire Das Auto hat jetzt einige km weniger als 100.000 km. Davon hat das Auto die erste 11.000 km mit Seriensoftware, und zwischen 80.000 und 95.000 km auch mit Seriensoftware gefahren. Keine Probleme, obwohl man mit derarte Pferdestaerken und Newtonmetern Rechnung halten muss das die Kupplung schnell verschleisst (hab bereits eine neue drinnen seit etwa 65.000 km) und das auch das Getriebe eigentlich kein 450 Nm verkraften kann. Turboschaden sind moeglich, usw.

Daneben auch Stahlflex-Bremsleitungen (Goodridge), die M3 silent blocks am Hilfrahmen hinten, 3/4 bis 1 Grad Negativsturz dazu, Wiechers Domstrebe, EBC YellowStuff Bremsklotze (wenn auf die Strecke), und 17 Zoll BMW/BBS geschmiedete 2-teilige Felgen mit Toyo R888 Semislicks (225/45R17) für die Strecke. ;-)

    @ZDShadowForce : No, I tend to follow the “don’t try to fix it when it ain’t broken” way of life. :-) Sachs has a clutch and pressure plate for the 120d (and other models with that engine) that takes up to 670 Nm (sintered clutch), but I do not know anyone with that part in the car installed. My trackstuff supplier mentioned not everyone is happy with it though (hard, not very enjoyable on daily basis).

    So do you recommend a new clutch and flywheel if i get my 120d remapped?

    @ZDShadowForce : my BMW service point offered me a new clutch and flywheel at no cost (car had some 60.000 kms on the odo and was 20 months old). The clutch didn’t feel worn at that time, though.

    Ik heb de Racelogic PerformanceBox. Z’n geld zeker waard, als je af en toe ook op circuit gaat en een goede laptimer wil. Om enkel maar acceleraties te meten vind ik ‘t minder… ;-)
