Hello, zijn er geen problemen geweest met de gecrashte 118 na deze chipping ? (verzekering, enz…)
Ik heb dezelfde 118D dus interesseert mij dit ook wel

deze is intussen perte totale.
mijn eigen 118d is ook gechipped, nog steeds geen problemen.

Also don’t forget that diesels tend to have 1 gear more than petrols, which throws the possibilty of going trough a torque (or horsepower)-peak one more time than petrols. Surely, they need to shift once more … Take in mind, the “wider rev band” is a smokescreen, you cannot use it for going fast. Going fast = shifting at the correct time, not staying in one gear to show off how wide your rev. band is. The width does not really matter, neither does the amount of revs. HP and torque available.

Well, in fact, comparable diesel engines with LESS horsepower do take on petrols (with MORE horsepower), because of their much higher amounts of torque. You have to see what you compare, a 4-cyl. 2liter versus a V8 is not what you should do. Turbo lag ? Of course, but it is not mandatory to use the revs which cause turbo lag, you should look for usuable revs. Ironically, that is more a problem with petrol cars : wider rev bands, cause more difficulties choosing gears.

these aren’t racing cars, just cars for daily use. If I could I would have bought a M3 and take my bike to go to work everyday I get your point but this vid is just to show that you’re easily able to get some better performance from the pre-facelift 118d.
